It’s that time of year, we’re getting ready for back-to-school. As a kid I loved to personalize my own supplies, drawing or coloring or adding a collage to anything I could. So today I’m going to share an easy way you can create DIY personalized school notebooks with the kids. Using art you create or coloring pages you’ve colored, you can customize all kinds of school supplies.

DIY Personalized School Notebooks
Whether you want to make your own art from scratch for this project, or use art you already have, the process is the same. Personalizing school notebooks is fun and easy and you can make an unlimited number or notebooks to use for whatever you need. You can also use this same technique to personalize journals, planners, school folders and more! Get creative and have fun adding your own creations to all your things!

Materials
- Notebooks – I used standard school composition notebooks
- Doodle pages, coloring pages or other fun art
- Clear packing tape
- Scissors

Instructions
Start off by creating your art. For these notebooks I used watercolor paints to add color to plain white cardstock and a coloring page from my own coloring book. You can use any kind of paper design you’d like. Coloring pages are a great place to start. Check out the coloring pages I’ve designed that you can use.

Trace around the edge of cover of the notebook on to the colored art. Trim the art to fit the notebook.

Attach the art to the notebook using strips of packing tape. Make sure to allow the tape to wrap around to the inside of the notebook color. You don’t need to glue the paper to the cover, the tape should hold it all in place and protect your art!

Trim any excess tape from the notebook covers. That’s it!

Making your own personalized school notebooks let’s you show off your style. Pick your favorite colors, art designs and even add embellishments like glitter or stickers. Make a custom notebook for ever class or make one just for assignments and notes… it’s up to you! The best part about this project, these notebooks have no age limit. They are great for elementary school all the way through college. Get creative and have fun!
