How to make a doll
Follow this simple tutorial to make the Powerpuff Girls, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. They stitch up in no time at all and make a great sewing project for kids!

I couldn’t think of a better project than sewing Powerpuff Girls. I am passionate about teaching kids to sew. I truly believe a sewing machine is power. This lifetime skill can provide a source of accomplishment, give confidence, provide a positive creative outlet and even provide income! So what better thing to sew than Powerpuff Girls dolls! Girl power for sure!
The Powerpuff Girls centers on three sugar-coated superheroes, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, whose missions in life alternate between going to school, fighting crime, winning at hopscotch and saving the world before bedtime. The girls are frequently called upon by the town’s mayor to help fight nearby criminals using their powers. While their differences cause them to squabble and tease, their individual strengths combined always lead them to victory. They rely on teamwork, trust, and friendship to thwart evil (in the most adorable way).

How to make a doll
After printing peel protective backing from the fabric.

Cut a piece of fabric approximately 8.5 X 11 inches.

Pin the inkjet printed fabric to the patterned fabric. RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER.

Using the outline of the doll as a guide stitch around the Powerpuff Girl. Be sure eave a 1 1/2 to 2 inch opening to be able to turn fabric right side out and add fiberfill.

Trim around the PowerPuff Girl close to the stitching line. Clip corners to make it easier to turn. Leave a bit more fabric at the opening (see photo).

Turn fabric right side out.

Stuff doll with fiberfill.

Stitch the opening closed with needle and thread.

Now we are ready to save the world before bedtime!
